Karsten and Kade are twin boys that were born at 25 weeks, 6 days. They are currently residing at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora, Colorado. They, along with their mother, had quite a journey to get there. At 17 weeks pregnant their mom, Pepper, had her water break for Twin A, Karsten. She was able to stay pregnant for an additional 8 weeks with bed rest at home but at 25 weeks she went into labor. The babies were born via C-section and Pepper was treated for some major complications following their births. The twins were delivered in Billings, MT but were then airlifted to Children’s Colorado to the level 4 NICU there. Both boys are still receiving extensive medical treatment. Kade may be able to go home in the near future, but Karsten may remain hospitalized until his first birthday.
Pepper actually lives in Wyoming and has 3 other children at home. The drive to the hospital is over 8 hours one way. Pepper has asked the Ella Bullis Foundation to help her with travel and meal expenses when she is traveling to the hospital to visit her babies. The financial strain of traveling often to see her babies and care for those at home is extensive. In Aurora, Pepper can stay at the Ronald McDonald House when they have openings for $20/night. We have committed to helping her with the costs of the Ronald McDonald House stays and for meals at the hospital when she visits.
Will you help us provide help for Pepper and her baby boys? Any donation you provide will go directly to helping Pepper with her travel or meal expenses. A donation in ANY amount would be beneficial to us and to this family. All donations are tax deductible. Thank you in advance for your help!!
